Burnout is a phenomenon, commonly used to describe a state of mental exhaustion that thrives in the workplace nowadays. This syndrome is perceived as a consequence of a major mismatch between the nature of the job and the nature of the person who does the job. The mismatch happened since the organizations place the human value a distant second behind economic or profit. In order to gain a better comprehension about this syndrome, this article tries to describe burnout from the (...) beginning development of the syndrome, the differences from the others concepts, the sources (organization, personalities, work environment), the process and also the issues in empirical research. This research was aimed to examine the relationship between perception toward merger and job motivation among employees of PT X. The subjects of this study were 97 employees of PT. X Jakarta. Pearson product moment correlation was used to test the hypothesis. The result showed that proposed hypothesis was accepted. The result shows that there was a significant relationship between perception toward merger and job motivation (r=0.581, p<0.05). In conclusion, increases in perception toward merger can have a significant influence on (...) the higher work motivation. Furthermore, perception toward merger also had a significant relationship with all dimensions of job motivation: arousal, direction, and maintenance (r=0.485, p<0.05; r=0.541, p<0.05; and r=520, p<0.05 respectively). The aim of this research is to find out the significant difference between successful seller and unsuccessful seller on self-efficacy and persuasion capability. Self-efficacy is people’ judgement about their capabilities to deal a problem at specific situation. Persuasion is a process communication that purposed for changing someone’s belief and behavior. The participants of research consists of 125 sellers, in which 80 are successful and 45 are unsuccessful. The data were taken by questionnaires. The processing technique is using t-test with SPSS (...) program 12.00 for Windows. The result of this research shows t(125) = -6.011, p<0,05, based on significant number 0,00. This shows the significant difference between successful seller and unsuccessful seller on self-efficacy. Furthermore, the number shows the level of self-efficacy on successful seller is higher compared to the level of self-efficacy on unsuccessful seller. On the other hand, the results of persuasion research shows t (125) = -7.501, p<0,05, based on significant number 0,00. This shows the significant difference between successful seller and unsuccessful seller on persuasion. The number also shows the level of persuasion on successful seller is higher compared to the level of persuasion on unsuccessful seller. (shrink)

This research was made to see the different level of Self efficacy of managers based on their style of management conflict. Sample (N=90) was taken from non probability sampling technique. Data was collected from questioner of 90 participants and analyzed by using oneway anova from program SPSS12.0. The results shows F (2,237) = p 0,091, p>0, 05, which there is no difference level of self efficacy on the managers based on their style of management conflict.

: The objective of this research is to prove the effect of age, gender, marital status, educational level, tenure, emotional intelligence, job stressor, social support and organizational climate to burnout of the sales persons. Multiple regression is to analyzed data from 105 sales persons of a property business. The result shows that all variable had significant effect to burnout, and to three aspects of burnout (emotional exhaustion, cynicism and low professional efficacy). The purpose of this research is to identify the contribution of self control toward impulsive buying on early adolescence. Impulsive buying is an unplanned purchasing when consumer experiences a sudden, often powerful and persistent urge to buy something immediately. Self control is the feeling that someone can make decisions and take effective action to achieve desirable outcomes and avoid undesirable ones. Respondents of this research consists of 200 early adolescence with 78 male and 122 female. Those sampling obtained by non-probability (...) sampling techniques with convenience sampling method. The statistical measurement uses linear regression analysis method with SPSS version 11.5. The results implicates that self control significantly contributes to impulsive buying, refer to β score = -0.532, p< 0.05. This study is tried to find out, whether the labor’s work ethic and labor’s satisfaction have positive correlation or not at PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia. The Work Ethic is ethic order which underlying the behavioral society in order to realize the work relationship based on basic standard, ideal, and harmony. The Job Satisfaction is generalization of the feeling that employee’s perceived as like or dislike of their job based on the job aspects. The authors use work ethic theory of The (...) Six Pillars of Character, which divided works ethic into six dimensions, there are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. The Authors also use the job satisfaction theory from The Job Descriptive Index, which divided jobs satisfaction into five dimensions, there are job, pay, promotion, supervision, and fellow workers. The sample of this study took 106 respondents and all of them are permanent employees at Chicken Processing Plant that have already worked for Charoen Pokphand Indonesia more than 1 year of service. The study of data analysis shows correlation index = 0.495 and p < 0.01. It is concluded, that there is a positive relationship between labor’s work ethic and labor’s job satisfaction at PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia. The more positive of work ethic behavioral of the employees, the job satisfaction will be higher, and on the contrary, the more negative of work ethic behavioral, the satisfaction will be lower.  . The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between employee’s perception of the implementation of the benefit program and employee’s commitment to the organization. The respondents are 64 employees which taken from X company. The result shows that there is a significant relationship between employee’s perception of the implementation of the benefit program and employee’s commitment to the organization.  .

This study described the relationships between academic class and student moral sensitivity and reasoning and between curriculum design components for ethics education and student moral sensitivity and reasoning. The data were collected from freshman (n = 506) and senior students (n = 440) in eight baccalaureate nursing programs in South Korea by survey; the survey consisted of the Korean Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire and the Korean Defining Issues Test. The results showed that moral sensitivity scores in patient-oriented care and conflict were (...) higher in senior students than in freshman students. Furthermore, more hours of ethics content were associated with higher principled thinking scores of senior students. Nursing education in South Korea may have an impact on developing student moral sensitivity. Planned ethics content in nursing curricula is necessary to improve moral sensitivity and moral reasoning of students. (shrink)

Mais comment se peut-il que l'existence d'une croyance (vraie) et l'existence du fait qui est l'objet de cette croyance puisssent constituer la même existence? Je propose ici une réponse à cette question. Parfois, une croyance peut être un désir.

We propose a kernel method for using combinations of features across example pairs in learning pairwise classifiers. Pairwise classifiers, which identify whether two examples belong to the same class or not, are important components in duplicate detection, entity matching, and other clustering applications. Existing methods for learning pairwise classifiers from labeled training data are based on string edit distance or common features between two examples. However, if two examples from the same class have few common features, these methods have difficulties (...) in finding these pairs and achieving high recall. One typical example is to check whether two abbreviated author names in different citations refer to the same person or not. Since similarities between examples from the same class become close to zero, classifiers fail to distinguish positive pairs from negative pairs. One approach to avoiding the problem of zero similarities is using conjunctions of different features across examples, but implementing this idea straightforwardly makes the computational cost prohibitive for practical problems. Using a kernel on pair instances, our method can use feature conjunctions across examples without actually doing feature mappings, which are computationally expensive. The kernel is a tensor product of two inner products on the original feature space. The corresponding feature mapping generates conjunctions of features only across the two different examples while that of the conventional polynomial kernel also generates conjunctions of features from the same example, which are irrelevant to pairwise classification and cause deterioration of accuracy. Our experiments on the author matching problem show that this method can give a precision 4 to 8 times higher than that of previous methods at medium recall levels. (shrink)

Pain may appear to undermine the radically intentionalist view that the phenomenal character of any experience is entirely constituted by its representational content. That appearance is illusory. After categorizing versions of pain intentionalism along two dimensions, I argue that an 'objectivist' and 'non-mentalist' version is the most promising, if it can withstand two objections concerning what we say when in pain, and the distinctiveness of pain. In this article, I focus on Johann Nikolaus Tetens’s linguistic theory to make three arguments: (a) this linguistic theory endorses a phonological (contra phonetic) approach to the acoustic sphere of language; (b) the phonological approach is based on the idea that sounds can turn into phonemes (of a properly human language) only when a minimally rational reflection on them is made; and (c) the phonological approach allows us to understand the phoneme as a differential unity, as being composed of structure (...) and function, and as giving a theoretical basis for language learning. While starkly different in genre, tone, and reception, the two films comprise a dialectical dyad that registers the historical transition from the utopian cultural effervescence of the early 1990s to the tragic foreclosure of imaginative horizons and the dystopian transformation of economic, political, and social landscapes in the new (...) millennium. Al centro (o al cuore) di questa grande koiné scettica agisce profondamente, ma con effetti avvertibili, l'idea che sia difficile o impossibile afferrare, o riconoscere, o definire la verità. Ma è davvero così? In quale senso può essere vero che la verità non esiste, o (...) è indefinibile, ineffabile, inafferrabile? Il libro ricostruisce la storia di un solo enunciato, “la verità non esiste”, e delle sue traduzioni e parafrasi: dai sofisti e dagli antichi scettici fino a Nietzsche e alle teorie contemporanee sulla scomparsa della verità. È una storia controversa, fin da principio segnata dalla consapevolezza che a normali condizioni logiche non si può negare la verità: perché se è vero che la verità non esiste, allora almeno una verità esiste.
